To-die-for Wedding Shoes

Dear diary,

I am really in the mood of dreaming about my own wedding lately. haha. Well, who doesn't rite? Kalau dah memang dilahirkan jadi perempuan, mesti ada angan-angan untuk majlis perkahwinan sendiri. Dapat atau tak tu lain cerita, yang penting kita tau apa yang kita nak. Mane tau dapat memudahkan proses mencari nanti. :)

Okay, kali ni I nak share pasal my dream wedding shoes. Cewah! Macam cinderella la pulak bila cerita pasal kasut ni kan? I tak pasti sejauh mana kepentingan wedding shoes ni untuk pengantin, but I think it really is important for me.

Meh sini I nak tunjuk contoh-contoh kasut yang menarik perhatian I untuk dijadikan kasut semasa majlis nanti. Lucky me because my fiance is a lot taller than I am so I can wear a nice wedding high heels on that day!

So dah nampak tak macam mana taste I untuk kasut? I love something covered if you notice. Sebab tu minat I lebih ke arah kasut yang bertutup sepenuhnya macam pumps or peep toes. Design pulak tak boleh terlampau sarat. I memegang konsep less is more for the whole wedding ideas. :)

Ohh, I jugak ada terbaca tips memakai wedding shoes masa majlis nanti yang amik kat sini.

1. Melabur untuk kasut yang selesa. A well-constructed shoes usually comes at a cost. Tak salah kalau spend sikit untuk sesuatu yang kita tau kita akan guna banyak kali.
2. Pakai sebelum majlis untuk membiasakan kaki dengan kasut tersebut. Walk around with your shoes on until you feel comfortable in them. Tapi jangan la pakai keluar rumah. Hilang seri kasut tu  nanti! hehe.
3. Jangan bukak kasut yang tak selesa semasa majlis berlangsung. Kalau dah bukak nanti bila pakai balik mesti makin sakit. Take a break and have a seat for some minutes.
4. Always keep a spare pair of shoes for any circumstances. Hopefully it is as comfortable and gorgeous as the first one!

Pearl Hand Bouquet

Dear diary,

Hari I rasa terpanggil untuk buat satu entry pasal hand bouquet atau bunga tangan yang biasanya dipegang oleh pengantin perempuan sepanjang majlis. Nak tau tak apa fungsi bunga tangan ni sebenarnya?

1. Menambah seri pengantin. Perempuan dengan bunga kan memang sinonim sangat. Kalau dah pakai baju lawa-lawa, ditambah pulak dengan bunga tangan cantik, mesti makin bertambah-tambah seri pengantin tu.
2. Membezakan pengantin dekat bridesmaid. Maklumlah bridesmaid zaman sekarang ni kadang-kadang lagi vogue dari pengantin. Jadi nak bezakan sikit, pegang la bunga sejambak. hehe.
3. Menyembunyikan nervous pengantin. Kalau tak pegang apa-apa nanti mesti tangan tu macam taktau nak duduk diam especially bila nervous, so hand bouquet lah penyelamatnya! :)

After considering all the above, I think I have come out with something that I want to have on my wedding later. Eh, belom apa-apa dah fikir pasai bunga tangan?? haha. Apa salahnya kan? Nama pun planning. :)

Telling you about my dream wedding, I love something simple with classic yet classy design. Tak suka terlampau sarat dengan macam-macam bentuk dan warna. That is sooo not me. Lagi simple lagi bagus. Warna pun I tak suka yang terang-terang sangat. Yang lembut-lembut tu macam indah je pandangan kan? hehe.

So if you ask me what it's like to be my hand bouquet, I love the one that is made from pearls or beads. I have seen some people using them in their wedding, and they look absolutely stunning! Of course la sebab diorang pengantin, so pengantin mesti la lawa. Tapi the hand bouquet itself plays the role to enhance the bride's beauty. So, lets check it out!

I wish I can get something like this for my wedding. I love how the colour of the bouquet blends well with the dress.

Wedding Photographer and Cinematographer hunting

Dear diary,

Memandangkan hari ni mood nak buat kerja ke laut sikit, jadi I isi masa yang ada dengan survey pakej-pakej fotografi & videografi untuk majlis yang akan berlangsung dalam tempoh tak sampai 7 bulan dari sekarang. Ya Allah look at how time flies, and I could say my preparation is still close to nothing. :(

Lepas survey sikit-sikit, I rasa bakal pengantin perlu ada sekurang-kurangnya RM3000 untuk coverage lengkap (gambar+video) untuk majlis perkahwinan mereka. Itupun adalah pakej yang paling basic with flaws here and there. Contohnya, hanya menggunakan junior photographer, coverage hanya untuk satu event ataupun output yang kurang menarik.

For my case, I'm looking for a package that covers the following requirements:

1. Events: Solemnization & Reception
2. No. of photographer : 2 (at least one principle, the 2nd one could be a talented junior photographer)
3. No. of videographer : 1 (always be prepared for any circumstances)
4. Professional editing for both photos and videos

I guess those are the things that I'm particular the most in looking for a complete package for my wedding. Cari punya cari, I dapat simpulkan dekat sini yang budget keseluruhan yang perlu ada adalah antara RM3000-5000. Harga ni tak termasuk promosi yang diadakan dari masa ke semasa lah. Plus if they are from outstation, budget accomodation dan transport perlu ditambah.

So as a start, I have started following their websites and FB pages waiting for any wedding promotion and I have emailed some of them asking for quotations. Hopefully they will get back to me as soon as possible so that I can put the budget in my wedding check-list.

Boleh tahan jugak rupanya harga photographer and videographer untuk majlis kawen ye. I never thought they could cost me quite a fortune. Tapi ni kan majlis sekali seumur hidup, nak jugak lah ada kenangan yang indah. Kalau untuk majlis tunang sebelum ni I takdela pentingkan sangat pun benda2 alah macam ni, tapi untuk majlis kahwin, I surely want something beautiful to commemorate the most meaningful event in my whole life. :)

Mencari majlis perkahwinan yang diberkati Allah SWT

Dear diary,

Hari ni nak kongsi sikit pasal gambar orang kawen.hehe. Honestly, I suka gila tengok gambar pengantin! Tak kira la sesapa pun. Asalkan ada membe kawen je, mesti habis satu album wedding dia I akan godek-godek sambil imagine wedding sendiri nanti nak buat macam mana. :p

I suka tengok gambar pengantin sebab bila dah sah dengan ikatan, seri dia memang lain kan? Ditambah pulak dengan majlis yang meriah, lagi la nampak menarik. Kalau gambar pre wedding semua tu, I kurang berkenan sikit. But for post wedding pictures, I definitely agree!

Then baru-baru ni bila keluar banyak gambar majlis pernikahan and resepsi Irma Hasmie, I rasa sangat-sangat tertarik untuk contohi majlis dia. Sebelum ni ramai lagi artis yang dah kawen, tapi sikit pun tak menarik minat I untuk terus dapatkan maklumat dari internet. Maklumla artis kan? Gila apa nak ikut cara depa? Mau tak cukup tanah nak lari sebab kena ligan dengan bapak! haha. :p

But for Irma Hasmie's wedding, I personally think that this is one good example that everybody must follow. Bukan la maksudnya kena buat majlis besar macam dia, tapi konsep islamik yang diterapkan tu sangat-sangat lah I suka! Tengok baju dia, perjalanan majlis, tetamu yang hadir, semua sejukkkk je mata memandang.

What I like about her wedding dress is, hampir sempurna rekaannya. Tutup aurat sepenuhnya, warna yang sangat humble yet very sweet, and make up yang sederhana enhancing her natural beauty. Senang cerita, dia adalah pengantin selebriti yang paling cantik dan sopan yang I pernah tengok setakat ni!

I hope mine will be something like this. Sederhana dari segala segi tapi dalam kelas yang tersendiri. Jangan lah bandingkan dengan majlis Irma Hasmie. Haruslah majlis dia sedikit besar-besaran sesuai dengan dia yang seorang public figure. Tak salah kan kalau kita ikut contoh yang baik-baik macam ni, dan disesuaikan dengan kemampuan kita sendiri.. :)

Hunting for the wedding colour palette

Dear diary,

While I was thinking on where to start in planning my own wedding, then I notice that choosing the right colour may have a huge influence on the overall look. Ye lah, kalau tak pilih warna tema, macam mana nak pilih baju, hiasan meja dan dewan, cenderamata untuk tetamu, kek, dan lain-lain, as everything stems from the choice of your main colour.

I naturally love pastel colours like pretty pink, lavender orchid, baby blue, mint green, soft yellow and light coral. That's why I chose to wear the combination of soft pink and honeydew green for my engagement dress. I personally think that these colours help to create a romantic air in one occasion, sesuai lah untuk majlis-majlis kawin macam gini kan? hehe.

But at the same time, I always dream for a wedding with all white scheme, from the bridal attire, hall decor, main table decor, flowers to the wedding cake. White really forms an elegant, classic and stylish ambiance am I right? Tapi orang tua-tua mesti tak berapa berkenan especially the grandmothers. Pucat lesi tak berseri depa kata! T__T

There are times when adore deep and rich colour tones so much like blood red, dark purple, electric blue and emerald green in a wedding. They look bold and confident. Tapi tak semua orang sesuai pakai macam tu. I takut nanti I end up jadi mak tiri snow white dalam wedding dress sendiri. Tapi kalau mak tiri cun macam Charlize Theron dalam cerita Snow White and the Huntsman, why not???? hehehe. ;p

Hmm, mesti orang ingat orang perempuan ni cerewet kan? Nak pilih warna tema pun payah. But's that the nature I guess? Once I have the idea on what hues should I opt for, then the rest will be much easier. Cabaran seterusnya mungkin tak semua benda ada dalam warna yang kita pilih. ;O

Precious Touch Bridal :: Give Away Mini Pelamin

Dear diary,

Pengantin dan pelamin memang tak dapat dipisahkan. Walaupun bukan untuk majlis bersanding, I still think pelamin is a must untuk menaikkan seri majlis dan merupakan props yang terbaik untuk photography session. So, bila Precious Touch Bridal buat give away tepat pukul 12am (waktu Australia sebab I ada dekat sini) yang menawarkan  hadiah mini pelamin percuma, takkan nak biar lalu depan mata macam tu je kan??

Selama ni datang lah contest jenis apa pun dalam Facebook tu tapi tak pernah terasa nak join. But not this time around. So, for the first time ever, akhirnya I tertarik hati untuk turut serta dalam contest yang dibuat kat dalam Facebook ni. Mana tau ada rezeki dapat pelamin free untuk majlis sendiri nanti. :)

Apa yang menariknya, PTB tak menyusahkan peserta macam sesetengah contest yang lain yang perlu meraih LIKE yang paling banyak. That type of contest is so not my forte you know! As for this one, you only need to Like, Share, Tag and Comment on the poster, and then you're all done! Easy peasy!

Walaupun probability untuk menang adalah sangattttt kecil, tapi apa salahnya kalau cuba kan? Kalau ada rezeki pengantin, senyum lebar lah nanti dengan pelamin free.hehe. Tapi kalau takde rezeki pun takpe, I anggap itu satu cara untuk bantu promosikan perniagaan PTB ni. Mana tau kalau give away kali ni dapat sambutan menggalakkan, pihak PTB akan buat give away baru. hehe. :)

Wedding Venues

Dear diary,

If you question me about how far has the preparation for the big day gone through, I could say only 0.1%. Belum ada satu persiapan pun lagi yang dah dibuat sebenarnya kecuali tempahan dewan untuk majlis resepsi. Walaupun ada lebih kurang sembilan bulan lagi, tapi dengan masa yang bergerak sangat pantas sekarang, pejam celik pejam celik nanti majlis tinggal tak berapa hari je. Umm, I nervous tau! 

Okay, as for the venue, ada dua event utama yang akan diberi keutamaan iaitu Majlis Pernikahan dan Majlis Resepsi. So, untuk kedua-dua majlis ni ada dua tempat yang telah menjadi pilihan iaitu Masjid Bertam Perdana dan Kompleks Sukan MPSP.

Majlis Akad Nikah - Masjid Bertam Perdana

Mula-mula dulu  I macam pernah berangan untuk buat majlis nikah di rumah. Tapi bila fikir-fikir balik, kalau boleh taknak susahkan parents nak siapkan rumah semata-mata untuk my solemnization, so I agree with mom's suggestion to do it at the mosque. 

Tapi rumah my parents dekat kawasan Telok Ayer Tawar, so, kenapa I pilih untuk bernikah dekat Masjid Bertam Perdana, di kawasan Kepala Batas? Bukan ke ada banyak masjid dekat kawasan Telok Ayer Tawar tu? Okay, let me explain.

InsyaAllah nanti lepas berkahwin, I akan duduk di rumah sendiri yang I dah beli di kawasan Bertam, tak jauh dari masjid tu. Maknanya I akan jadi penduduk di situ lah kan? So, afdhal jugak kalau I bernikah di masjid yang berdekatan dengan rumah yang akan diduduki sendiri nanti, ye dak?

Lagipun masjid ni baru sangat siap dibina. Apa salahnya kalau kita sama-sama mengimarahkan masjid baru kan? Cuma insyaAllah nanti I akan cuba pastikan diri sendiri dan tetamu yang hadir dapat mengikuti semua tatacara dan adab yang sesuai untuk menjalankan pernikahan di rumah Allah tu. :)

Majlis Resepsi - Kompleks Sukan MPSP

After a series of hall hunting (through my mom), insyaAllah majlis resepsi nanti akan dijalankan di sini. Alhamdulillah the booking has been confirmed and kena bayar deposit RM300 upon confirmation. Jumlah sewa dewan untuk sehari I lupa pulak nak tanya mak. hehe.

You know what, two of my childhood best-friends also did their wedding reception over there. Thara (August, 2008) and Nazirah (December, 2011). So I guess mine will complete all three of us celebrating our wedding at the exact same hall. Farah dikecualikan sebab dia dah lama pindah dari Penang. :)

So, when I did a little bit of research about this hall, I bumped into this b2b blog (Rina Hamid) and she made quite a clear review about this place. Thanks Rina for making things easier for me! Okay, now let's check:

Kelebihan:
1) Memang besar gila (boleh muat lebih 1000 orang serentak)
2) Parking banyak gila
3) Boleh ambil caterer luar
4) Ada aircond
5) Surau dan tandas dalam dewan 


Kekurangan:
1)  Dewan terlalu besar (decoration kena pakai banyak untuk tutup kekurangan - jadi mahal kos deco)
2) PA System tak disediakan
3) Kerusi meja kena cari sendiri 
4) Backdrop besar dan tinggi (kos decor naik lagi)
5) Stage tinggi (kena jaga2 untuk yang pakai heel 5inci)

Ha, cukup lengkap kan maklumat yang Rina bagi? So, boleh bayangkan tak rupa dewan tu macam mana? Kalau tak, meh sini nak tolong jelaskan dengan gambar yang I copy juga dari blog Rina. Thanks once again babe! Very much helpful!

The history of the couple

Dear diary,

Looks like I forgot to introduce you to the main casts of this wedding journal, didn't I? Tapi kalau tengok title blog pun we can obviously tell siapa bride-to-be and groom-to-be tu kan? hehe. So, meh sini nak perkenal kan, I am the bride-to-be, Amirah, the author of this wedding journal and also the proud fiance of Faizal Amri, the groom-to-be.

We have known each other since more than 10 years ago in MRSM Beseri, high school lovebirds I could say. We officially became an item on 9th July 2003, and we seriosly very much in love with each other eversince. If I could describe what love at the first sight means, I am proud to tell that, he's the one who has caught mine. ;)

So after 8 years of being in a serious relationship, we decided to move on to the next level, the engagement! So on 31st December 2011, we were declared as Fiancé and Fiancée in a small but meaningful family and relatives event. Now that we are 6 months engaged, Alhamdulillah, terima kasih Ya Allah kerana memudahkan semua urusan kami.

After a careful arrangement, the wedding date has now been set. InsyaAllah, we are going to tie the knot on 30th March, 2013, 282 days from now. So mark the date in your calendar yea! :)
